About Brexit.Trade
Brexit refers to the United Kingdom’s (UK) decision to leave the European Union (EU). Brexit has changed the way goods are traded, and, the provision of services. Key areas that have been impacted include the areas of Customs Clearance and Export Compliance.
The Trade Gateways Network is operated by Local Merchant Services, (LMS) in co-operation with significant partners. LMS have been providing Digital Trade Services since 2017. Services are centrally provided to Trade Gateways in the Network in a partnership with IBM.
Brexit.Trade is part of the TRADE GATEWAYS Programme. International Trade provides many challenges. Because there are over 300 Digital Trade Gateways across the globe in the TRADE GATEWAYS network, including Trade Gateways for over 100 Major Ports Globally, the TRADE GATEWAYS Programme provides the ability to remove many of the challenges in a facilitated manner from one single point. This can prove of great value to users, and helps to facilitate Brexit.Trade
Benefits of Brexit.Trade
UK exports have fallen since Brexit - in part due to the form-filling that's now required for access to the European Single Market. Brexit.Trade facilitates capturing all necessary data about a container for the importing nation’s customs officials before it even leaves its country of origin.
This can help with avoiding the endless form-filling that accompanies international trade – a headache that has grown increasingly painful for UK exporters since Brexit.
Furthermore, each Trade Gateway in the Brexit.Trade Programme is a branded Trade signpost to Trade Products and Services relevant to the Geographic location of the trade gateway, and delivered in co-operation with major partners and featuring at least 1 B2B Marketplace relevant to its Geographic Location

As Part of TRADE GATEWAYS, Brexit.Trade helps to facilitate Post Brexit Trade by helping to connect buyersand sellers through applicable B2B Marketplaces, then providing Digital Trade Services to help facilitate and automate accruing Trade and Supply-Chain Finance. Automation unburdens the supply chain of a considerable management cost
Key areas that have been impacted include the areas of Customs Clearance and Export Compliance. From May 2023, BrexitTrade will provide an interface that will facilitate these areas for Post Brexit Trade to and from the UK by providing an interface that helps users do the following:
Connecting Buyers and Sellers and Facilitating Accruing Trade
International Trade provides many challenges. Using the extensive TRADE GATEWAYS network of Digital Trade Gateways, Brexit.Trade will help users address those challenges from a single point as detailed below.
Brexit.Trade allows users to access Buyers or Sellers through an applicable B2B Marketplace.
After concluding a transaction, registered users would then use a Local Digital Trade Gateway in the TRADE GATEWAYS Programme, to access a local infrastructure to execute agreed Transactions, in a faster and more secure manner.
